  • Patient Ratios: 1:4 to 1:5 on days, 1:5 to 1:6 on nights
  • Patient Experience requirements: hourly rounding on days, every 2 hour rounding on nights, AIDET and keeping up with communication boards.
    • Job Requirements
    • Must have: Critical thinking skills, EKG rhythm interpretation, cardiac drip, insulin drip and heparin drip experience.
    • Advanced skills needed: ACLS, experience with bipaps, high flow O2, and multiple oxygen delivery systems.
      • Schedule Information
      • Scheduling requirements: every other weekend requirement for contract, 3 12 hour shifts a week.
        • Unit Specific Information
        • Type of equipment: bipaps, high flow o2, vapotherm, alaris pumps, cardiac drips, heparin drips, insulin drips, peritoneal dialysis.
        • Documentation system: Meditech
        • Floating policy: may have to float in between PCU units or float to med-surg floors.
        • Number of Beds: 630 has 34 beds/633 has 25
        • Unit staffing description: 3 techs when full on 630 and 2 techs when full on 633.
          • Additional Details
          • Unit does self scheduling. Schedules are 4 weeks, and contract are required to work every other weekend.
          • Utilize techs to care for the patients and assist in care.
          • Most travelers extend after the first time on PCU.
          • Care like family culture on PCU and great teamwork.
